Materials & Details

  • Materials: 18kt gold-plated upcycled hammered brass.
  • Size: 2 cm.
  • We use locally salvaged scrap metal, which is melted down into brass sheets and repurposed for our jewelry pieces using a hammered brass technique. Each piece is gold plated and coated with a water-based sealant to help prevent oxidation.
  • Due to the handmade nature, slight variations may occur from piece to piece. Please note that our Kibera collection bears the unique marks of our artisans who craft these pieces in the slums, such as minor nicks and imperfections. These marks showcase the authenticity and craftsmanship of each piece. Embrace the individuality and celebrate the human touch that makes each creation a one-of-a-kind expression of art and resilience.

Story, Sustainability & Impact

This piece was designed in Canada and handmade by master artisans in one of the world’s largest slums. This collection empowers our artisans to break the cycle of generational poverty by offering a viable income through their craft. It also helps keep their city clean through the upcycling of local scrap metal. Brass can be infinitely recycled without diminishing its composition, making it one of the most sustainable metals.
